ALTA Award Nominations are in!

January 01, 2020

I got nominated for two ALTA Awards - Outstanding Improviser and Outstanding Actor in the Principal Role in a Musical. I know that grown up award shows do not have Jimmys style medleys of nominees but... imagine... Lolo + the 2 Usnavis that got nominated... singing a medley... a dream...

Climate Change Theater Action Festival at The Martin

November 22, 2019

A theater festival about taking action to combat climate change- I'm passionate about this and don't want to make jokes about it! But the show I'm in is pretty funny tbh ;) Click the image for tickets!

October 05, 2019

I recorded a national commercial and I can't say anything til it goes up! I think! Hopefully I am not disappeared for posting even this much!

Oooh guess who is SAG eligible now????

August 22, 2019

It's me! You probably guessed that bc this is my website! That's right, I'm officially SAG eligible after a fun afternoon in ye olde voiceover studio. If you're driving through Indiana, turn on the radio and keep an ear out for me in the IHSAA spot!

The Experiment at CIC

August 10, 2019

Uncanny Latinx has a 10 week run at CIC doing our specialty: music improv with a side of messing with each other. It's gonna be a hoot and a half, I love these guys and you will too! (Oh so The Experiment is a show where a team is auditioned instead of individuals to form a team, so that's the premise we have desecrated as we attack each other every wednesday the group pic is representative in that way)

Time Travel for Petty Revenge Opens at Annoyance Theater

July 22, 2019

I directed a solo show at Annoyance Theater by comedy darling Libby Marshall. She would hate me calling her a darling of anything - come see the show before she finds out! It's spooky and weird and as absurd as the title suggests. Also very funny!

The Praise is Pouring In for The Ballad of Lefty and Crabbe!

June 24, 2019

The Chicago Tribune says "“The Ballad of Lefty & Crabbe” is about as goodhearted and surehanded a musical comedy as you’ll find — a show that knows what it’s trying to do and delivers on the nose in its own goofy terms," and I gotta tell you, I agree :) Click the image to read the whole thing!

The Ballad of Lefty and Crabbe at Underscore Theatre

May 10, 2019

I'm so excited to start rehearsals for The Ballad of Lefty and Crabbe with Underscore Theatre! I'll be playing Lolo, an old school Hollywood starlet, which, just, phew, we're gonna have to start brushing our hair for this one fellas amiright? I can count on one hand the times I have been trusted with a Poised Character so this will be an adventure for the books!

Lucky: A Musical in the Chicago Musical Theater Festival

January 21, 2019

At long last, you can get tickets for this charming, upbeat, FUN original musical! Despite what the promo photos of me may lead you to believe, this show is not gritty or a bummer ;)  So excited to bring this treat to the Chicago Musical Theater Festival!

Aesop's Adventures in the Land of Fables at Raven Theatre

January 14, 2019

I'm so excited to embark on my first Theater for Young Audiences adventure understudying with Raven Theatre's production of Aesop's Fables! As the old quote goes... nothing like a 10am show to start your day with a smile! I think Shakespeare said that, actually.

Becoming Shakira at Chicago Sketchfest!

January 13, 2019

I did it again... I directed a dang sketch show... Honestly, having a blast, learning a lot, forcing my friends to hang out with me but calling it "rehearsal..." This is a life I could get used to.

Diagnosis: Boring Season 1 On Vimeo

December 13, 2018

Watch me play a profoundly unhelpful best friend to Jess Lowry, the protagonist of this very funny and very sincere web series about depression and isolation in the modern age. Also, I know this is not the point, but I go through some eye shadow LOOKS in this season.

WildClaw Theatre's Deathscribe HELLeven

December 03, 2019

I performed in the Deathscribe Finalist piece "Subject #9" and a stranger came up to say they had to leave the room because the noises I made grossed them out so much. For a horror radio play... I think... that's the best praise I could receive...

The Cuckoo Theater Project's Miscast Cabaret

November 03, 2018

I'm back at it with team TCTP and I will be soon performing a WILD take on Dear Evan Hansen's Waving Through A Window. Does anyone have a small prop cast that I can borrow??

I Directed A Sketch Show!

November 01, 2018

You might be wondering, Elisabeth, what's an actor doing directing a sketch show? I don't have a good answer for you, but I learned a lot and had a blast! Reach out if you'd like to hear more or watch the video; I think it might have been the perfect comedy show?? I have a natural gift?? Still very much An Actor but now I've Had This Experience and loved every second of it??

Wrapped Season 1 of Diagnosis: Boring

September 25, 2018

We did it! A whole season! I can't release any pictures or plot points yet, but I will just say this cast, crew, and story are anything but boring!

Soft Earth Available To Play

August 30, 2018

I sang for this gorgeous interactive text game, and you can play/listen/experience it at last. I don't have any funny things to say about it. It's sincere and heartfelt and makes you feel nostalgic for memories you just saw invented in the world of the game.

The America Show ft. DJ SUBTLETY opens at The Playground Theater

July 24, 2018

The women of Ride or Die are at it again, and this time we have written and produced a comedy show about everyone's favorite bummer... the state of the union!

Huggable Riot's First Full Length Play!

June 13, 2018

A super casual thing, we wrote a whole play, it goes up at Annoyance Theater tonight and runs for the next 6 weeks. Everyone scoffed when I pitched a bigfoot conspiracy as a device to thread the plot together but look whose goofy plot device is on the poster!!! Mama we made it!!

March 30, 2018

"One of the most surprising and funny characters in the entire show was Farrah (Elisabeth Del Toro), a tiny, cruel, badass fairy. When the group of adventurers wanted to pass through her territory, she was not too keen on that and she basically goes maniac on them and tries to slice them up with two swords..."

January 17, 2018

"Often, after a particularly dismal scene plays out, the charming and upbeat Mary, played with great energy and charisma by Elisabeth Del Toro, skips onstage to lighten the mood with a cheery moment. "

Panic! At the Honky Tonk Chicago Reader Recommended!

September 22, 2017

"Huggable Riot’s musical revue is a string of confessional ditties about racist, sexist, and other -ist parasites. The cast calls to mind the tokenism of a college brochure, but this diversity is key to showing how similar the issues are faced by blacks, queers, Hispanics, etc, alike. Destiny Strothers sings beautifully about the offensiveness of catcalling; Elisabeth Del Toro describes how her half-white, half-Latino makeup means she’s never stopped at airport security; Lea Ciastko lambastes the tellers of Asian jokes only to concede that she'd "rather you be racist than unfunny." This is also one of the only shows I’ve seen featuring a lone white male in support of his female castmates and not vice versa."

"Babes With Blades Theatre Company continues its 20th season with the Chicago premiere of THE GOOD FIGHT, playing at City Lit Theater, 1020 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., January 6 – February 17... “THE GOOD FIGHT imagines the personal lives of the historical women who literally fought for the vote in London in the early 20th century. The parallel to continued struggles for women’s autonomy and gender parity cannot be ignored,” says Co-Artistic Director Kathrynne Wolf."

New Improv Team "Biscuit" Takes iO show The Pool by a Storm!

What a weird way to say that I got tapped to play in The Pool at iO! Me and my new friends will be gracing the Chris Farley Cabaret with a Harold every Tuesday night for the next 3.5 months. Come check us out!

Creative Outsiders Names PATIENCE (RIDESHARE S2 E1) Shortie of the Week

May 30, 2017

"A month later we convinced our improv friends to sit in a car with Jeff for 20 minutes while we filmed them. When we reviewed the footage, we discovered the stories that expanded in ways we never could have imagined. That’s how we made RideShare. Enjoy!"

May 30, 2017

"Come see Elisabeth and the cast of The Water Children, running June 10 - July 8 at The Vault at Collaboraction Studios in the Flat Iron Arts Building"

September 20, 2016

"Part family drama, part comedy of unresolved masculinity, "Parachute Men" is an unexpectedly buoyant... with boastful, almost comic fraternal friction "
